National Honor Society

  • Club Description:  NHS is a student organization that is open to all seniors and juniors who have achieved a GPA of 4.33 or above and exemplify the Four Pillars of National Honors Society: service, leadership, scholarship, and character.  This organization is student-driven and encourages active participation in community service projects both in and outside RTHS.  There is a requirement of 15 hours of community service per semester and there are many more hours available in which to partake throughout the year.   Each year, there is also an opportunity to be elected and serve as an Executive Board member and it is predominantly these members who steer the rest of the chapter toward activities that promote the pillars.

The application process for NHS is open to all juniors who meet the 4.33 GPA requirement through the Spring of their sophomore year or seniors who meet the 4.33 GPA requirement through the Spring of their junior year.  The application process begins in August each year.  Students who are eligibile to apply will be contacted by the NHS sponsor and a meeting will be held to explain the application process.
