Read for a Lifetime Challenge

  • Library Purpose
This space allows students to create, expand, and develop skills within education. It is a safe space where students can check out reading material, Chromebooks,
get Skyward help, and collaborate with others.

    About the Library

The library contains over 8,000 volumes, a class set of Google Chrome Notebooks with internet and database access, and research accessibility.  The library houses all of the school's computer carts, which are used daily by the faculty and students.  The librarian, Mrs. Johnson, is available during the school day as well as before and after school to assist with any reference needs or aid in the selection of materials for recreational reading.  All students are welcome to use the library when their schedule permits.

Over 40 current periodicals are available for use in the library.  The library also subscribes to Gale databases, which all students have access to from any device with internet access.  The resources in the library are selected to be closely coordinated with the school curriculum, providing strong support for each field of instruction and offering a diverse range of recreational reading material.  Students and staff may recommend materials to be added to the collection at any time.

Students may borrow books from the circulating collection for a period of two weeks.  Students may also check out Chromebooks and hotspots to be used throughout the school year.  All books and devices will be due at the end of each school year for inventory purposes, regardless of whether or not a student is returning the following year.

There are multiple book club options students may join.  Books for these clubs are provided by the school, and approved by the librarian and administration.  These book clubs may be joined at any time.  The librarian can provide additional information about book clubs.
