"My favorite part about teaching history is being able to guide students toward understanding the cause and effect of historical events in our nation's history. I feel the most empowered as a teacher when students are able to think critically about historical events and understand the implications that these events have on the United States in the present day. My hope is that after taking one of my courses my students will have a better understanding of who they are as a person, and their role within their local, national, and global communities."
