About Officer Kurtis Buckley |
My name is Officer Kurtis Buckley. I was born and raised in Rantoul, Illinois. I am a 1990 graduate of the Rantoul Township High School. I attended Parkland College for two years, majoring in Criminal Justice. After graduating from the Police Training Institute, I started my law enforcement career with the Gibson City Police Department, where I served as K-9 handler. June of 200, I came back to Rantoul and continued my career with the Rantoul Police Department. At RPD, I have served as Juvenile Officer, Field Training Officer, and a Breathalyzer Operator. During the summer of 2010, I was appointed to RTHS as their first school resource officer. I am certified by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) as an SRO. The best part of my job is having the opportunity to build relationships with the students and be a positive influence on them.
